Phill Hopkins to show new series of drawings 'Terror Variations'

A new series of eight drawings will be shown as part of 'Placeless, Place' Exhibition, The Gallery North Project Space, Newcastle upon Tyne.

‘Placeless,Place’ is an exhibition for which site or context is often the starting point and is a research subject for the process of making art with the question of how and where meaning resides - is it in the displaced context of the gallery, in its execution, documentation or anecdote? The artists’ works range from an exploration of the site/non-site dialectic, post- industrial visual narratives,and the sublime to question the fixed identities of objects and materials so they defy usual definitions and expectations. With the ultimate paradox of placing works precisely where they can never reside.
